The government is bringing in powerful generators for Kyiv: how energy is being provided after the shelling.

According to ТСН: After intense shelling of the energy system, the government is taking urgent measures to stabilize the situation amid freezing temperatures. Yulia Svyrydenko announced the involvement of powerful generators for residential buildings in Kyiv and instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to ensure fuel reserves.

Svyrydenko noted that the government has decided to review critical infrastructure facilities, which has allowed adding 1 GW of electric power to the grid. This significantly helps to resolve problems caused by attacks and severe frosts.

“We are coordinating efforts with retail networks. The situation with providing people with products is under control. I instructed the Minister of Economy to keep it under personal control and respond to requests from the networks,” the Prime Minister's statement said.

By government order, in areas of Kyiv where the greatest electricity problems are observed, the State Emergency Service provides residential buildings with high-capacity generators. This also helps reduce the load on the system and provide electricity to entire neighborhoods.

Throughout Ukraine, considering the situation, additional “Points of Invincibility” are being deployed.

Svyrydenko instructed the regional military administrations and the relevant ministry to keep the situation under control, react urgently, visit locations, and stay in touch with the population.

“Particular attention is paid to ensuring fuel reserves. Our task is to ensure the availability of resources and stabilize prices,” emphasized the head of the government.

She also reported on work to quickly restore generation and increase electricity imports.

The situation with light and heating in Kyiv

Russia continues its energy terror, trying to cause blackouts in Ukraine, leading to emergency electricity outages in the Kyiv region and the capital. The infrastructure cannot withstand the load, many homes remain without heating, and icing due to bad weather has caused massive damage to networks. More than a thousand “Points of Invincibility” are welcoming Kyiv residents while 200 teams of energy workers and the State Emergency Service are repairing damaged facilities around the clock, as there is a threat of new strikes. Rescuers urge people to follow the dress code and insulate their homes, while the government predicts stabilization of the situation in the region by Thursday.

Due to emergency power outages and severe frosts in Kyiv and the region, several Novus supermarkets (approximately 17 objects) and some “Silpo” establishments temporarily suspended operations due to technical problems or lack of electricity supply. At the same time, the ATB network continues to operate normally thanks to autonomous generators. Although retailers report local difficulties, the city authorities assure that there is no massive closure of large chains.

The situation with electricity supply and heating in Kyiv remains tense due to ongoing attacks on energy infrastructure. The government is taking all possible measures to support the energy system, supply the population with necessary resources, and minimize the consequences of emergencies. In such conditions, it is important to remain calm and follow the recommendations of the relevant services.
