Russia intensifies pressure in Zaporizhia: what threats arise from the loss of Huliaipole.
According to ТСН: The situation on the Zaporizhia front raises serious concerns. Russian occupation forces are increasing combat activity, focusing their attention on areas that were previously relatively quiet.
The military expert notes that recent events confirm a change in the enemy's strategic priorities. The adversary is ramping up pressure on several fronts in an attempt to break through the Ukrainian defenses. A vivid sign of preparation for active actions is the massive artillery shelling, which allows clearing the territory before an offensive.
“The fact that the city is currently being actively shelled is undeniable. The range allows for both barrel and rocket artillery to be used.”
The expert indicates that the enemy is already conducting actions at a distance that threatens both civilian and military infrastructure.
The threat of losing Huliaipole
Huliaipole remains an important stronghold that restrains the advance of the occupiers deeper into the region. If the defense forces are forced to abandon this city, the situation for the entire region will become significantly more complicated.
“If Huliaipole falls, the enemy will advance from another direction, and the situation in Zaporizhia will become considerably more challenging.”
The loss of control over this settlement could open the way for Russian troops to advance further.
According to the expert, the most likely scenario in the event of a breakthrough in defense will involve enemy pressure toward Orikhove. This city is strategically important, and capturing it will shorten the distance to Zaporizhia.
This direction of the offensive appears promising for the adversary, despite significant losses in other battles. Progress here could allow the enemy to create tighter control over Zaporizhia, making life more difficult in the regional center.
It is known that on the southern front, Russian forces have intensified assault actions, concentrating their main attacks on the Huliaipole and Oleksandrivka directions.
According to information from the southern defense forces, the enemy is attempting to break through the logistical route Pokrovske — Huliaipole to complicate supplies for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and continues combat within the city. Russia is also conducting airstrikes, actively using drones, and preparing assault units for action in winter conditions.
Currently, the situation on the front remains tense as enemy activity increases. Ukrainian forces face the task of ensuring reliable protection of key positions, particularly Huliaipole and Orikhove. Maintaining control over these territories is critically important for the further defense of the region.Read also
