According to UATV: Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, has expressed gratitude to Cyprus for its role in preparing the opening of the first cluster for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. This milestone advances Ukraine’s European integration efforts and highlights Cyprus’s support in the process.
A New Phase in Ties with Hungary
In addition, Sybiha announced a new chapter in Ukraine-Hungary relations.
“We are opening a new chapter in relations between Ukraine and Hungary—one built on mutual respect, trust, and our shared European future. Ukraine is moving forward,” the minister stated. These remarks underscore a commitment to strengthening cooperation and developing bilateral ties.
Notably, Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also play key roles in shaping the strategic partnership between the two nations.
These statements reflect an intensification of Ukraine’s foreign policy, particularly regarding EU integration and the development of bilateral relations with neighboring countries. Cyprus’s support for opening the EU accession cluster could send a strong signal to other EU member states about their readiness to back Ukrainian reforms and integration goals. Meanwhile, improving relations with Hungary may enhance regional stability, given the historical and political contexts of cooperation between these nations.
