ALDI launches clothing collection points for charity in 500 stores.
ALDI launches clothing collection initiative
According to The Sun: The ALDI supermarket chain is implementing significant changes in over 500 of its stores that will delight customers.
For the first time, customers will be able to leave their old items and textiles for donation to charitable organizations without visiting separate collection points. Now this will be possible while shopping.
AldiDon’t worry, your items can still be useful for charity, as this initiative is being carried out in partnership with the Salvation Army.
This organization helps people facing homelessness, poverty, addiction, and victims of modern slavery.
The donation points will start operating from September 22.
How to make a donation
Customers will be able to leave their items using InPost containers located in front of ALDI stores.
You will first need to visit the returns portal on the ALDI website. Enter information about the items you wish to donate, as well as your name and address.
After that, materials can be left in InPost containers just like when sending or returning a package.
Items will be sent to the Salvation Army, where they will be sold or repurposed to raise funds for charity work.
Luke Emery, Director of Sustainability at ALDI, stated: “This is a great and innovative way to expand our partnership with InPost Lockers and the Salvation Army, and for the first time will allow customers to donate clothing in our stores.”
“At ALDI, we strive to provide convenience and efficiency, and this new service allows customers to easily recycle old clothing. It’s quick and easy!”
ALDI already has food donation points that support local charities, food banks, and communities.
