Liverpool officially confirmed the signing of Isak two hours after the transfer window closed.

Newcastle changed its position 24 hours before the deadline and agreed to let the unhappy striker go for 130 million pounds.

Liverpool, which had previously submitted a bid of 110 million pounds a month ago, intensified negotiations in the final stages and completed the transfer today.

According to the agreement, Liverpool will pay 125 million pounds, with an additional 5 million pounds in bonuses.

Isak, 25, visited Liverpool's training center in Kirkby on Monday evening to undergo medical examinations and subsequently signed a six-year contract with the club.

The striker, who wears the number 9 shirt, shared his impressions:

“I feel great. It is a combination of what the club is building and what already exists. The history of the club.”

Isak also noted that he looks forward to meeting his teammates and the fans:

“I am just glad that everything is over, and I can get back to work.”

The transfer situation of Isak

Reports indicate that Isak expressed a desire to win trophies:

“Yes, I want to make history. I want to win trophies. I want to win everything.”

This transfer has become the largest in the history of British football, surpassing the previous record of 116.5 million pounds set this summer by Liverpool's signing of Florian Wirtz.

Newcastle issued a brief statement of 37 words confirming the sale of Isak:

“Newcastle United announces the sale of striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a significant British record fee.”

The timing of the transfer meant that Isak could not play in Monday's match against Liverpool.

Newcastle attempted to convince Isak to stay by visiting him at home, but the striker had already decided on Liverpool.

PA Getty Liverpool is showing an ambitious approach to the squad, as expected from a club that intends to return to the top of English football. The transfer of Isak has become a symbol of Liverpool's new approach, striving to enhance its title chances this season.
