Alexander Isak debuts for the Sweden national team after record transfer to Liverpool.
According to The Sun: Alexander Isak, the most expensive footballer in Britain, returned to the field for the first time in 102 days.
The new Liverpool signing, for whom £130 million was paid, is on the bench during the World Cup qualifiers in Slovenia.
ReutersThe 25-year-old last stepped onto the field on May 25 during Newcastle's match against Everton.
However, Isak has a chance to play for the first time in more than three months in Ljubljana, nearly 1200 miles from the Kop, to play for his national team.
Last season he scored 27 goals, helping the Magpies win the Carabao Cup and qualify for the Champions League.
After missing a friendly against Celtic on July 19, rumors began to arise about his future, and he was later seen training with his former club Real Sociedad.
Although he continued to refuse to play for Newcastle, coach Eddie Howe had no recognizable striker at the start of the season.
Isak openly expressed his desire to leave the club, stating that Newcastle's promises were 'broken,' and their 'relationship cannot continue.'
In response, Newcastle firmly denied Isak's accusations, stating that 'no commitments from the club have been made' regarding his departure.
Isak remained on the bench while the team picked up only two points from their first three matches before getting the opportunity to move to Liverpool on transfer deadline day.
After signing the contract, he traveled to Stockholm to join the Sweden national team for matches against Slovenia and Kosovo.
National team coach Tomasson reported that he is in touch with Liverpool's doctors and promised not to do anything 'foolish' regarding Isak's fitness.
He also confirmed that Isak has not lost his goal-scoring abilities: the official Sweden national team account published a video of him scoring a ball into the top corner of the net during training.
