Amazon launches large-scale sale of refurbished products: discounts up to 70%.
Amazon launches sale of refurbished products
According to The Sun: Amazon announced the start of its first European sale dedicated exclusively to refurbished and used products called Second Chance Deal Days. The sale will run from September 3 to 9, allowing customers to save up to 70% off recommended retail prices.
ReutersThe company reported that last year, customers in the UK saved over £110 million by purchasing returned and refurbished items.
Research has shown that two-thirds of Britons are now buying used products, driven by rising living costs, expanding product ranges, and environmental concerns.
Assortment and discounts
Over 30 million used products are featured in the sale, giving customers a chance to save on electronics, home appliances, fitness equipment, and many other categories.
Amazon Resale offers discounted used and open box items classified as 'Like New', 'Very Good', 'Good', or 'Acceptable'. This helps shoppers make informed choices. At the same time, Amazon Renewed showcases refurbished products from verified sellers that undergo professional inspection, testing, and cleaning to meet strict standards.
Both types of items will participate in the Second Chance Deal Days promotion.
Among the most interesting offerings are the Sony PlayStation Portal Remote Reader for £140 (30% discount), Apple AirPods 4 for £110 (40% discount), and Google Fitbit Sense 2 for just £70 (70% discount). Also worth noting is the De’Longhi Magnifica coffee machine for £170 (50% discount) and the Tower Dual Basket fryer for £45 (60% discount).
Feedback from Amazon's leadership
'We have observed that when customers experience the value and quality of these products, they become confident second chance shoppers, saving money and helping to extend the life of goods,' said John Bomfri, Manager of Amazon UK.
'Our specialized teams inspect every returned item. Customers can be assured that any used product they buy meets our quality standards and comes with Amazon’s service and return policy.'
This promotion kicks off ahead of the second Prime Day event for this year, which is expected in October. Note that the sale is intended only for Amazon Prime members, so you need to subscribe to access the significant discounts during the event.
Becoming a Prime member is easy and provides numerous benefits, including free next-day delivery and access to Prime Video and Amazon Music.
The subscription costs £8.99 per month, or you can save by opting for an annual membership at £95.
'Here’s a tip for saving - if you are a new Prime user, you can subscribe for a 30-day free trial, giving you free access to the sale when it starts,' the company reminds.
Don’t forget to cancel your subscription before the trial period ends to avoid the £8.99 monthly fee.
The Second Chance Deal Days sale highlights the growing popularity of used goods in the UK and Amazon's commitment to supporting environmental initiatives. This event could be a great opportunity for shoppers looking to save money while contributing to sustainability. In light of rising prices for new goods, such promotions are becoming increasingly relevant.
