Andre Onana will earn more in Turkey than at Manchester United: contract details.
According to The Sun: Andre Onana, the Cameroonian goalkeeper, will earn more during his loan to Trabzonspor than at Manchester United.
After a disappointing season and a poor performance in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby, trust in him has significantly decreased.
PA GettyIt was revealed yesterday that the club reached an agreement to loan Onana to Trabzonspor.
This deal depended on the player's decision, which he has until the transfer window closes in Turkey on Thursday.
According to transfer journalist Ben Jacobs, the 29-year-old goalkeeper will receive a salary increase due to the financial terms offered by Trabzonspor.
“Onana will earn more than at United due to bonuses and the signing fee offered by Trabzonspor.”
His base salary will be around 120,000 pounds per week, but this amount has decreased by approximately 25% due to the qualification clause for European tournaments.
United fans reacted differently to this news: some were happy about Onana's departure, while others joked.
One user on X wrote: “For this, Amorim, I’m ready to give you time until January.”
Another commented: “There will be no bonuses for winning with him in goal!”

Some were surprised by the financial capabilities of the Turkish club, which can afford such sums for Onana.
“The game is changing,” said a third user. “We simply cannot compete with the finances of such a superpower as Trabzonspor. What’s next?”id='6378133562112' data-video-id='6378133562112' data-account='5067014667001' data-player='default' data-usage='cms:WordPress:6.5.6:2.8.6:javascript' data-embed='default' class='video-js' data-application-id='' controls style='width: 100%; height: 100%; position: absolute; top: 0; bottom: 0; right: 0; left: 0;'>
A fourth user added: “From demanding a salary increase at United to securing finances in Turkey. The man really has risen.”
This transfer becomes a logical conclusion, as Onana wasn't even included in United's squad for the first match of the season against Arsenal, focusing on Ruben Amorim's new tactics.
The Mancunians have already signed what they consider to be Onana's new replacement – Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, paying around 18 million pounds for him and signing a five-year contract.
Thus, Onana's move to Trabzonspor not only opens new financial opportunities for the player but also highlights changes in Manchester United's lineup, which is actively looking for new solutions to achieve success this season.
