Makhmudov mentioned that Joshua already communicated with him on social networks and promised him a fight in case of his victory.

"We talked a bit on Instagram. Just friendly, you know. I suggested the next fight to him, he said: 'Good, next year then. We can do it next year.'"

It should be mentioned that Joshua, who is 35 years old, has not returned to the ring since he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024 at Wembley Stadium. After recovering from an elbow surgery in the summer, his promoter Eddie Hearn announced that the two-time champion is ready to fight again.

There are already offers from Ghana and Nigeria for the fight as well as a planned super fight against Tyson Fury next year.

Fight Allen vs Makhmudov

Dave Allen returns to the ring for one of the biggest challenges of his career this weekend. The White Rhino will face Arslanbek Makhmudov in his home arena in Sheffield.

Allen comes off a great victory over Johnny Fisher and could get the chance for a fight against Deontay Wilder if he can get through this matchup. However, Makhmudov is considered one of the strongest boxers in the world with 19 of 20 wins coming by knockout.

"I think if he (Joshua) comes back, he will fight Makhmudov if Makhmudov beats me. If I win, I don’t think I will fight Joshua, but I think that’s how it will be."

Allen was a regular sparring partner of Joshua when he trained at the Team GB training center in Sheffield.

"I want to fight Anthony Joshua. It’s a fighter’s dream for every active heavyweight, I think."
