Coach of Arc Triumph Winner Graphard Makes Surprise Entry in Champions Day.
Rayevka Enters Champions Sprint Stakes
According to The Sun: Coach Francis-Henri Graffard today added sprinter Rayevka to the lineup for an important race at Ascot, which will take place for the second time this season.
Graffard, known for his successes, previously included Rayevka in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot, where the horse finished third behind Time for Sandals in a Group 1 race.
AFPHe has now confirmed that Rayevka, representing the colors of Arc winner Daryz, will participate in the Qipco British Champions Sprint Stakes, of which Lazaat is expected to be the favorite.
Other Champions Day News
In other Champions Day news, John and Teddy Gosden may enter Sweet William against favorite Trawlerman in the Champions Long Distance Cup.
Initially, it was planned for Sweet William to go to rest after winning the Doncaster Cup, but his participation in the two-mile event on Saturday has been confirmed.
Ed Walker also confirmed that Almakan will participate in the Champion Stakes, where William Haggas was still deciding whether to allow savings to start.
After receiving a positive assessment, the participants can gather for an attractive race.
The Gosdens also confirmed that Field of Gold will compete in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
The St James’s Palace Stakes hero returns after a not-so-successful performance at the Sussex Stakes.
Many of you probably remember the coaching achievements of François Doumen and the days of his son Thierry at the racetrack.
Perhaps the dynasty will continue soon.
In racing, Doumen senior achieved victories with horses such as Cheltenham Gold Cup winner The Fellow, Ucello II, Ubu III, First Gold, Kasbah Bliss, Djeddah, Nupsala, Algan, Baracouda, and Snow Drop.
On the flat, he won with Jim and Tonic in the Hong Kong Bowl and Dubai Duty Free, as well as with Double Bed in the USA.
Thierry Doumen, who guided Barracouda to two consecutive victories in the Stayers’ Hurdle, ended his career in 2004.
He also competed and trained Foreman to win the 2004 Irish Champion Hurdle.
I recently met Thierry at Longchamp with his son Jules, who is currently an amateur jockey in France.
“There are not many opportunities for amateur jockeys in France, so the plan is for Jules to come to Great Britain and participate in some amateur races next year or the year after,” Thierry told me.
“He’s a good jockey, and I hope he competes at Cheltenham soon.”
Jules Doumen has every chance of success!
The participation of Rayevka and other horses in important races at Ascot underscores the significance of the event. Organizers hope for high competition and outstanding performances, which may attract even more attention to horse racing. It also highlights how important it is to support young talents in the world of equestrian sports, as well as to maintain the traditions of family dynasties in this field.
