Free childcare education in England: how to get £7500 for childcare.
According to The Sun: Parents have just one week to register for free childcare of up to £7,500. This program is expanding in the UK but requires applications to be submitted by August 31. Starting in September, working families will be able to access up to 30 hours of free childcare for children aged nine months to four years.
Only 45% of low-income parents are aware of the new free childcare hours
Childhood Education Minister Stephen Morgan emphasized that this year the program will be a key moment in supporting families and providing children with a better start in life through high-quality early education. Moreover, family costs can decrease by £7,500 a year if they take advantage of the full package of free hours.
The program is already at different stages, with the first rollout in April 2023, when parents of two-year-old children could access 15 hours of free childcare. Gradually, this package has been extended to younger and older children, and now the government is adding even more opportunities for families to receive the necessary support.
However, not all parents are aware of this program. Research indicates that among low-income parents only 45% know about the new hours, while among high-income families this figure stands at 81%. To qualify and take advantage of the program, a household income must fall between £9,518 and £100,000 a year.
