The Russian Army advanced near five settlements - ISW maps.
According to analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Ukrainian troops have successfully regained their previously lost positions near Toretsk. However, Russian forces continue to advance towards cities such as Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Velyka Novosilka.
Situation in the Kursk Region
According to reports, on Wednesday, Russian troops attacked Ukrainian positions in the northwest of Suja and the south of Makhnyivka and Kurylivka. However, no progress was made.
Situation in the Kharkiv Region
Russian forces also conducted limited attacks northeast of Kharkiv, near Vovchansk. However, they failed to continue their advance.
Situation in the Luhansk Region
Russian troops attempted to attack in the Kupyan direction again but were unable to advance further. The statement from the Russian Ministry of Defense about the capture of the Western (north of Kupyansk) was not confirmed. Fighting took place near Dvorichna, Kutkivka, Petropavlivka, and other settlements.
Situation in the Donetsk Region
Occupants are successfully continuing their advance towards Chasiv Yar, with Russian troops appearing in the settlement. Geolocation records indicate their movement along Zalezhna Street. However, there is currently no information about the advance north and northwest of Chasiv Yar.
Additionally, on January 22, Russian troops attempted to continue their advance in Toretsk. Geolocation records indicate their movement along Kachalov and Puzanov streets. Russian media reported that their troops reached the field between Toretsk and Petrivka, as well as their advance east of the 'Toretska' mine. However, this information has not been confirmed.
Situation in Kurakhove
Russian troops continue to advance southwest of Pokrovsk towards Kotlyn and Konstantynopil. They have also captured Baranivka and Vozdvizhenska. However, information about the clearing of Ukrainian forces from the area west of the Kurakhiv Reservoir has not been confirmed.
Situation in the South
Russian forces continue limited attacks northwest of Robotyne and in the Dnipro direction. However, they have not been able to continue their advance.
As of today, the war has been ongoing for 1065 days.
