Boosting Ukraine’s Defense Forces

According to 5 канал — Політика: Petro Poroshenko has supplied frontline units with a new shipment of drones and equipment worth approximately 28 million hryvnias. At the same time, he urged the Verkhovna Rada to resume sessions and appoint leaders for key security agencies—a move that underscores the urgent need for stable military and diplomatic leadership amid Russia’s ongoing invasion.

What Was Delivered

The latest aid package includes:

  • 200 'Blyskavka' strike drones
  • 250 FPV drones
  • 17 DJI Mavic quadcopters
  • 66 generators
  • 83 power stations
  • Over 100 Starlink Mini terminals
  • One all-terrain vehicle
  • Electric bicycles
  • 85 'Aspirin' drone detectors

The total value of the equipment is roughly 28 million hryvnias. About 20 million hryvnias of that sum went specifically toward purchasing FPV drones from the Ukrainian manufacturer 'Vyrii.'

'Around fifteen different units will receive this batch of assistance,' Poroshenko stated.

He also emphasized that 'this is not the first time the team has procured these drones for the military.' The initiative highlights ongoing contributions to strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, which remain critical under current wartime conditions.

Beyond the hardware, Poroshenko called on the Verkhovna Rada to urgently reconvene and appoint a Minister of Defense, a Minister of Foreign Affairs, and a head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU). These appointments are essential for maintaining effective management of the country’s defense policy in the face of persistent military threats.

The delivery of drones and other gear reflects active efforts by Ukrainian politicians and businesses to equip the army with modern tools. Given the constant danger posed by the aggressor, enhancing defensive capacity remains a top state priority. Poroshenko’s appeal to parliament for swift leadership appointments signals the need for clear, coordinated action across all branches of government to successfully address the challenges confronting the nation.
