This transfer became possible due to Jakub Kiwior's loan move to Porto. The arrival of Hincapié marked the culmination of an impressive transfer window for Arsenal, where the club signed eight new players for over 250 million pounds.
Significant Changes in the Squad
After a 1-0 loss to Liverpool, Mikel Arteta has one of the strongest squads. Hincapié, considered the 'final piece of the puzzle', has received the number 5 shirt and may debut after the international break, depending on the health status of William Saliba, who has been injured.
Arteta noted:
“Piero has a real physical presence. His versatility and tactical flexibility provide us with strong additional options in defense.' Mikel Arteta on Piero Hincapié

Kiwior left the club with an option to buy for 22.5 million pounds. Arsenal also lost two players who moved to Hamburg: Albert Sambi Lokonga permanently and Fabio Vieira on loan with a buy option. However, Reiss Nelson and Oleksandr Zinchenko will remain at Arsenal despite interest from other clubs.
The importance of this transfer cannot be overstated. Piero Hincapié is expected to become a crucial part of the team, complementing the defense with his skills and experience. Soon he could become a key figure for the 'Gunners', who aim to reach new heights this season. This is not only a squad enhancement but also a testament to the club's ambitions in the battle for titles both domestically and on the European stage.
