Arsenal land brutal Champions League draw as Mikel Arteta’s side face Harry Kane’s Bayern and losing finalists Inter.
Arsenal learns its Champions League opponents
According to The Sun: Arsenal has learned its opponents for the group stage of the Champions League.
In matches against teams from the first pot, they will host Bayern Munich, the star-studded team that includes Harry Kane, and will also travel to face Inter, who suffered a humiliating defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in last year’s final.
GettyAgainst the second-pot opponents, Arsenal will host Atletico Madrid and play an away match against the Belgian club Benfica.
From the third pot, the team will battle Greek Olympiacos at home and will face Slovakian Slavia in the Czech Republic.
In the fourth pot, Arsenal will meet the Kazakh club Kairat Almaty, who recently knocked Scottish Celtic out of the competition, and will also travel to Spain for a match against Athletic.
Mikel Arteta and his team are looking to redeem themselves after a heavy defeat in the semifinals of last season. They showed exciting play by defeating PSV and knocking Real Madrid out of the tournament.
However, Arsenal could not overcome the winning team – Paris Saint-Germain. In the group stage, Arsenal secured a comfortable 2:0 victory, but in the semifinals, they faced a very different team that proved to be more than strong, defeating four English clubs participating in the competition.

Despite Arteta's denial that his team was better, Luis Enrique's team won a pair of matches 3:1 on aggregate over the two meetings. They subsequently celebrated their victory over Inter 5:0 in the final.

These issues seem to have been addressed with the arrival of Victor Gyokeres, who joined the club for £63.5 million after his hat-trick against Manchester City.
In midfield, they will benefit from FA Cup winner Eberechi Eze, who will take up a more attacking role compared to the controlled playing style of Martin Ødegaard.
The Gunners won their first two matches in the Premier League but will travel to Liverpool on Sunday for a match that could significantly impact their chances of winning their first home title since 2004.
