Costs £16

Price and reviews

Letty and Charlie's cakes now cost just £6.97, down from £8.48, which is a 20 percent discount. This offer looks significantly better than that of competitors such as Tesco, Morrisons, and Aldi.

The cakes are available both in stores and online, designed to serve 12 people, promising to be the 'perfect' dessert for celebrations.

“It was very tasty,” noted one customer, while another praised the “wonderful turtle cake” for its “good quality and price.”

Another shopper added: “Very tasty. VERY chocolatey. It has become a big hit in our family.”

“Tastes as good as it looks,” wrote a third.

Outrage over Colin's price

While customers criticized M&S for the price of their Colin-based ice cream, which costs £16.

“£16, are you kidding?!”

One shopper even called the price “unbearably high.”

Colin the Caterpillar was introduced to celebrate the 35th anniversary of this popular dessert.

After the launch, The Sun contacted the head office of Marks & Spencer to meet Colin himself.

“Colin the Caterpillar was developed over two years, and non-disclosure agreements were signed,” said Laura Bradley, M&S's “product developer.”

“We put a lot of love and care into creating it, and we are all very proud of the result.”

Before approving the product, 14 variations of Colin the Caterpillar were tested.

Colin's popularity knows no bounds: American superstar Olivia Rodrigo shared a TikTok video of her enjoying its taste, and a week ago Hollywood actor Austin Butler tried it and called it a “charming cake.”

Colin already has over 75,000 followers on Instagram, and his girlfriend Connie, introduced to fans in 2016, was recently spotted with feminist singer Taylor Swift during her visit to the UK.

Marks and Spencer sent a request for comment.

Thus, ASDA's price reduction on turtle cakes may be a response to increasing competition from other retailers and consumer feedback about high prices for the new product from M&S. It emphasizes the importance of adapting pricing strategies for market players to remain attractive to buyers in challenging economic conditions.
