According to The Sun: ASDA has announced the opening of more than 20 new stores that will appear in the coming weeks.
The major grocery chain is expanding its network since the beginning of October this year.
GettyAsda plans to open over 20 new Express stores this fallThe first city where the new 'Express' stores will appear is Castleford, while the rest will open their doors in October and November.
The company aims to expand the range of smaller stores to meet the needs of shoppers in urban centers.
Previously, ASDA announced the opening of 25 new express stores between June and December of this year, following the launch of its first convenience format store in 2022.
The stores offer up to 3,000 products under their own brands and labels for customers who want to buy, for example, bread or milk, or grab a takeaway lunch.
Asda chief supply chain officer David Lepley said: 'We are excited to start the next phase of rolling out our Express and are committed to bringing our heritage of providing excellent value to more locations across the UK.'
'In three years, we have grown from zero to almost 500 convenience stores by the end of the year.'

TDR bought Zuber Issa's stake last June.
More changes at Asda
The expansion of the store network is not the only change the company is implementing, which has experienced a sales decline of 2.6% for the three months leading up to August 10, according to industry data from Worldpanel.
Asda is also investing £10 million in refurbishing its 180 in-store cafés, with work set to be completed by the end of October.
The cafés will be equipped with new digital screens for orders, allowing shoppers to choose food and drinks.
Customers will also be able to order from their tables or through serving tills.
In addition, Asda is making significant changes to its online grocery delivery services.
The supermarket is updating its app so shoppers can see a 'picture' of the delivery driver's location.
They also promise faster and more accurate search results for online shoppers.
Meanwhile, the retailer opened its first standalone George clothing store in May this year.
The debut store was opened at Crown Point Retail Park in Leeds, and new concept stores may be rolled out in other locations across the UK if they prove successful.

The expansion of Asda's store network is indicative of changes in the company's strategy aimed at improving customer service and increasing competitiveness in the market. The new intent to invest not only in convenience stores but also in modernizing cafés and online services proves that the company is ready to adapt to modern conditions and consumer expectations.
Recent initiatives by Asda, such as the opening of new stores and the development of online services, could be key to reclaiming its position in the market, especially in the face of rising competition in the retail sector.
