Fatal traffic accidents are not uncommon in Afghanistan. Last week, another tragedy occurred in Herat province, resulting in the deaths of 81 people when a vehicle carrying migrants from Iran caught fire.

“The rate of traffic accidents in the country has increased unprecedentedly compared to any other time,” reports the local publication ABN Pashto on X.
This comes against the backdrop of another horrific accident in Uganda on Tuesday, where a passenger bus collided with an elephant.

Ugandan wildlife officials reported that the accident occurred because a wild elephant ran onto the road.
The animal, which was part of a herd of at least four, fled after the collision.
Rescue teams desperately searched for the elephant to check on its condition and provide assistance.
The police seized the remains of the bus at Dima police station while the investigation into this fatal incident continues.
