According to Novyny.live: Significant discounts of up to 50% are now available on a wide range of popular items at ATB and Silpo supermarkets as of January 21. These promotions offer Ukrainian consumers a chance to save on everyday goods amidst broader economic pressures. For instance, Silpo is offering whiskey for 399 UAH, down from 849 UAH—a 53% saving. The same chain has also cut the price of instant coffee to 249.90 UAH from 501.50 UAH, marking a 50% reduction.

Over at ATB, customers can find milk chocolate priced at 99.90 UAH instead of 196.90 UAH, a discount of 49%. Another attractive deal is 0.8 kg of dumplings, available for 94.90 UAH, down from 172.90 UAH (a 45% saving). Other items on sale include:
- Potato chips for 29.90 UAH, reduced from 55.30 UAH (-45%)
- Imitation caviar for 42.90 UAH, down from 71.50 UAH (-40%)
Silpo's additional discounted products feature:
- 48% fat cheese for 29.90 UAH, down from 59.90 UAH (-50%)
- Cream cheese with herbs for 119 UAH, reduced from 229 UAH (-48%)
- Sweet cream butter for 69.99 UAH, down from 129 UAH (-46%)
- Sausages for 129 UAH, reduced from 219 UAH (-41%)
While these sales provide immediate relief, experts note a concerning long-term trend: the price of bread has increased by over 20% year-on-year. Volodymyr Chyzh, an expert, forecasts that by 2026, a loaf of bread could cost around 60 UAH. He attributes this potential increase of at least 10% to additional electricity costs resulting from damage to Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
