Automobile Boom: Import of Used Cars in Ukraine is Actively Developing.
In May 2025, 22,500 used passenger cars imported from abroad were submitted for initial registration in Ukraine, marking a 6% increase compared to April of this year and a 12.4% increase compared to May 2024, as reported by the Institute for Market Research.
Statistics show a steady increase in the import of used cars since the beginning of the year. From January to May, 14,500, 17,700, 20,000, 21,200, and 22,500 cars arrived in Ukraine respectively.
Most Popular Models and Manufacturers
Among manufacturers, Volkswagen is in the highest demand, surpassing Audi. Nissan remains in third place in popularity.
In the ranking of individual models, the top position is held by the Volkswagen Golf, followed by the Skoda Octavia in second place, while the Volkswagen Tiguan holds the third position.
The growth in the import of used cars indicates a recovery in the purchasing power of Ukrainians and the stabilization of the automobile market in the country.
Positive Growth in Demand for Cars in Ukraine
The data on the increase in the import of used cars in May 2025 indicates positive growth in demand in the car market in Ukraine, which may suggest a certain improvement in the economic situation in the country. The popularity of Volkswagen models among Ukrainian consumers also stands out.
