According to The Sun: Newcastle legend Barrie Thomas passed away on Saturday at the age of 88. His departure left a deep mark in the hearts of fans.
The Magpies team announced his death, expressing heartfelt words of respect for the illustrious career of this iconic forward.

Barrie Thomas, who was born in Midsomer, began his professional journey at Leicester in 1954. In 1962, the Geordies paid a record £35,000 for this legendary centre forward.
Initially, Thomas played at ‘Thun’ for two years, where he recorded 50 goals in 78 matches, before moving on to Mansfield, and then to Scunthorpe. After a powerful spell at Newcastle, he returned to Scunthorpe for another two years.
He ended his playing career in 1968 at Barnsley, where he played for two seasons until an injury forced him off the pitch.
