West of England: 300-Year-Old Pub Suddenly Shuts Down Forever.
Closure of Beloved Pub
According to The Sun: An old pub with a century-long history has unexpectedly closed without warning. This popular establishment, which had been running for over 300 years, has left its customers 'heartbroken'. It was run by the couple Mark and Janet Etherington.
The 'Sparrowhawk' pub in Fence, Lancashire, announced its immediate closure in a statement online. The establishment suddenly closed its doors on October 21.
“We looked forward to reopening our doors, but unfortunately, that did not happen,” the owners stated.
Now, residents can only reminisce about cozy evenings in their local pub.
This closure has been a blow to the local community, as the 'Sparrowhawk' was not just a venue, but a true part of their lives. Many hope that a new owner will emerge in the future, ready to restore and continue the traditions of this unique place.
