Tendency towards rising unemployment
Experts from Gremi Personal note that the increase in unemployment has become noticeable in the summer months. The number of those looking for jobs for six months to a year has increased the most: this figure has risen by almost 9% month-on-month and by 10% compared to July of last year. There has also been an increase in the number of unemployed people who are looking for jobs for a shorter period.
In August, the number of people who lost their jobs due to bankruptcy, liquidation of enterprises, or layoffs increased. Their number was 38.2 thousand, which is 15.6% more than a year ago.
Reasons for rising unemployment
Changes in legislation 'On the Labor Market and Employment Services' are adjusting the accounting of unemployed people, which may affect the situation. However, experts believe that the main reason for the rising unemployment is the decrease in demand for labor. Competition in the labor market in Poland has reached its highest level in recent years.
It is also worth noting that Poland has changed the rules for Ukrainian refugees.
The rise in unemployment in Poland reflects the difficult economic situation in the country. This may negatively affect the social status of the population and the overall development of the state. Low demand for labor and high competition in the labor market are the main factors driving this increase, requiring attention from the government and economic experts.
