Races at Thirsk delayed due to dangerous track conditions: what happened.
Delay at Thirsk Races due to unsafe conditions
According to The Sun: The races at Thirsk experienced significant delays as jockeys began expressing concerns over the unsafe state of the ground.
Mark Prescott's horse, Conjecture, slipped on a bend about three furlongs from the finish during the second race in North Yorkshire on Friday.

Fortunately, the mare with odds of 7-2 under Luke Morris managed to stay on her feet, although she finished a significant distance in third place.
Several jockeys and trainer Ruth Carr went out to the racecourse to inspect the bend and ensure it could be used for racing.
The fourth race, scheduled for 15:38, experienced serious delays.
As this race occurred over a straight distance of six furlongs, the issues with the bend should not have affected its running.
Fortunately for punters, trainers, jockeys, and owners at the track, the ground was deemed sufficiently safe to proceed.
This was particularly important for the participants of the race at 16:38 over a distance of 1 m 6 f.
While later on Racing TV, potential risks of this race's cancellation were mentioned.
Trainers were unhappy with the race delay as it took place over a straight track.
In a statement from the BHA stewards on social media X, it was noted:
“Racing goes ahead @ThirskRaces.”
To be continued.
