The operator of the anti-tank missile systems platoon was killed in Donetsk region

On October 21, during a combat mission in the city of Toretsk, Yuriy Kanyuk, the operator of the anti-tank missile systems platoon, was killed. In civilian life, he was a historian, theologian, and writer. He was 30 years old. This was reported by the Sheptytska city council.

«A deep bow to the Defender to whom we all owe an everlasting debt. We express our sincerest condolences to the Hero’s relatives and loved ones. We share the pain of the irreplaceable loss and bow our heads in sorrow. Our duty is to remember the high price of our independence and freedom. Yuriy Kanyuk was born in the city of Sheptytsky in the Lviv region. He obtained higher education in Poland, graduating from the Catholic University of Lublin with a degree in history. He lived in Lviv, where he taught history. In parallel, he engaged in writing and continued to write on the frontline.

It is known that his creative heritage includes the book "Letter of the Starry Void," published in 2018.
