The White House lifted the freeze on federal aid.

The U.S. government lifted the freeze on federal aid, as evidenced by an official memo received by CNN from a representative of President Trump's administration.

According to CNN's information, the document states:

'OMB Memorandum M-25-13 is rescinded. For questions regarding the implementation of presidential directives, please contact your agency's chief legal counsel.'

Earlier, the White House Budget Office ordered a suspension of federal grants and loans, causing concern. However, the White House claimed that the order did not have as broad a scope as it seemed.

Despite statements from White House representatives about the lack of confusion within the agency, the administration received numerous calls from lawmakers and state representatives worried about the impact on their regions.

Acting Director of the Office of Management and Budget, Matthew Weitz noted in the initial memorandum that federal agencies 'must temporarily suspend all activities related to obligations or disbursements of federal financial assistance.'

On Tuesday afternoon, a federal judge temporarily blocked part of the aid freeze implemented by the Trump administration.
