The White House accuses Europe of sabotaging peace in Ukraine: details of the scandal.
The White House criticizes European leaders for ambiguous actions regarding the war in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Senior officials at the White House believe that European leaders openly support President Trump's efforts to end the war in Ukraine, while secretly trying to undermine the progress made behind the scenes at the Alaska summit, Axios reports.
The White House has asked the U.S. Department of the Treasury to prepare a list of possible sanctions that European countries may impose on Russia.
Conflicts and misunderstandings lead to failures
Two weeks after the meeting between President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin, no significant achievements in relations regarding the end of the war have been observed. Disappointed Trump advisors believe that the responsibility lies with European allies, not Trump or Putin.
White House officials are losing patience with European leaders, who are accused of pushing Ukraine to expect unrealistic territorial concessions from Russia.
New sanctions against Russia
According to Axios, the sanctions that the U.S. proposes to introduce to Europe regarding Russia may include a complete ban on the purchase of oil and gas, as well as renewed EU tariffs on India and China, similar to those already in effect in the U.S.
"Europeans cannot continue this war and lobby for unrealistic expectations while expecting America to bear the costs," emphasized a senior White House official in a comment to Axios. "If Europe wants to escalate this war, that will be their business. But they will hopelessly lose ground trying to achieve better conditions."
U.S. officials believe that Europeans are pushing Zelensky to expect a 'better deal' - an approach that complicates the conflict, according to Trump's team.
White House representatives accuse European leaders of confusion regarding the resolution of the war in Ukraine and urge them to impose new sanctions against Russia. American officials believe that the Europeans' desire to achieve a 'better deal' only exacerbates the conflict.
This situation underscores the complexity of international relations in the context of the war in Ukraine. Despite close cooperation between the U.S. and European allies, divergences in approaches to conflict resolution arise. Difficulties in reaching a consensus among the parties may affect the outcomes of negotiations and escalate the situation on the battlefield.
