Belarus cannot transfer the Polonez MLRS to Russia - Media.

"Polonaise" RSZO of Russian production

Belarus does not have the capability to transfer the Polonez multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) to Russia without China's consent. This was stated by observer Nikola Mikovic in an article for the South China Morning Post.

According to him, since the Polonez uses missiles manufactured by China, transferring the system from Belarus to Russia requires China's consent.

Mikovic noted that China and Belarus try not to cross the West's red lines in military cooperation between themselves and Russia, so their ties remain mostly economic.

"From China's perspective, Belarus is not only an important partner but also a critically important hub for its Belt and Road Initiative, as well as for freight trains between China and Europe. Therefore, it is not surprising that both countries have agreed to strengthen cooperation on China-Europe freight trains by promoting infrastructure connectivity and jointly ensuring the security of the China-Europe railway transport corridor," the analyst added.

According to the publication 'Militarny', the Polonez is an adapted Belarusian wheeled chassis MZKT-7930 'Astrolog' for the Chinese GATSS missile complex. The firing range of the complex reaches from 200 to 300 kilometers, depending on the modification.
