Belarus quadrupled fuel supplies to the Russian Federation: will this solve the crisis

Increase in fuel supplies from Belarus to Russia

According to inkorr.com: In September of this year, Belarus sharply increased gasoline supplies to Russia, raising volumes fourfold compared to the previous month, delivering 49 thousand tons of fuel. An additional 33 thousand tons of diesel fuel were also sent to the Russian Federation.

Fuel crisis in Russia

In the summer of 2025, a fuel crisis emerged in Russia, causing serious problems in various regions of the country. In response, Moscow even announced a ban on gasoline and diesel exports until the end of the year. Experts believe that Ukrainian cyber attacks on Russia's oil facilities have led to a production decline of over 20%.

'Belarus will not save Russia, this should be understood. Two oil refineries will help, but they will not save'

The chief consultant of the National Institute for Strategic Studies expressed doubt about Belarus's ability to provide effective assistance to Russia. The director of the consulting group 'A-95' also does not believe that Belarusian oil refineries will be able to fully cover the deficit of petroleum products in Russia.

Although the increase in gasoline and diesel fuel supplies from Belarus may alleviate some difficulties associated with the fuel crisis in Russia, experts doubt that these supplies will be able to fully resolve the problem.

This situation highlights Russia's dependence on external fuel supplies and underscores the challenges the country faces amid current economic and political challenges. Future events may impact the stability of the fuel market in the region.
