The best way to find discounted items at B&M is to use a barcode scanner.
This tool allows you to check if the price of an item is lower than what is displayed on the label.
The app is available for free in the App Store and Google Play, and it has a 'scan' button on the bottom of the homepage.
Customers can also point their phone’s camera at the product’s barcode, and the app will automatically show its price. If it hasn’t been updated on the shelf, the app will alert you.
You can find the nearest B&M store by visiting their website and using the Store Finder tool. Just enter your postcode – the system will suggest the closest store.
The company has over 650 stores across the UK.
How to save money at B&M
This retailer is known for its cheap offers, and a former B&M manager noted that the best time to look for significant discounts is around 10 am on Wednesdays when staff reduce prices to make way for new stock.
Shoppers also take advantage of Facebook groups, such as B&M Bargains, Extreme Money Saving Deals, and Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Group.
Sam Penny, a regular B&M customer, shared her six rules for finding good deals.
She, a mother of two, visits her local B&M stores every few days and runs a Facebook group called B&M Scanner And Other Bargains, which she started in 2019 to share tips on great offers.
The group has grown to 328,000 members who share their finds in stores.
One of her top tips is to utilize the B&M scanner feature.
Sam always checks the last items on the shelves as they are often sold at reduced prices.
She also recommends scanning items with different packaging and those with red and white labels.
Among her best purchases are a rug for 10 pence that cost £40 and headphones for 10 pence.

How to compare prices to get the best deal
JUST because something is on promotion or sale, it doesn't always mean it's a good deal.
There are many price comparison websites that help check prices – don’t be left out of pocket.
Most of them work by comparing prices at hundreds of retailers.
Here are a few we recommend:
- Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices on products online. Just enter keywords or the product number to get search results.
- Price Spy tracks price histories of products from over 3000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay, and supermarkets. After selecting a product, you can quickly compare which stores offer the best price.
- Idealo is another website that allows you to compare prices between retailers. You just need to enter the product you're looking for, and the site ranks the prices from lowest to highest.
- CamelCamelCamel works only with products sold on Amazon. To use it, simply enter the URL of the product whose price you want to check.
