Tyrrell Hatton shared about his festive night after qualifying for the Ryder Cup

According to The Sun: Tyrrell Hatton shared details of the celebration after successfully qualifying for his fourth Ryder Cup. He noted that in the company of Jon Rahm, whom he played with in Rome two years ago, they had an unforgettable night after Europe captain Luke Donald confirmed his spot on the team.

For the English player, it was a true surprise as he feared he would be pushed out of the six automatic spots on the team by other European stars competing at the Tour Championship last month.

Hatton explained:

“Luke got in touch with me and said the guys weren’t scoring points in Atlanta, and I actually made the team automatically. It was a really nice call, and I was on cloud nine.”

After that, Hatton and Rahm went to celebrate:

“Yeah, it was a crazy night. Honestly, I don’t want to find myself in that state again.”

Reflecting on his state after the festive night, Hatton shared:

“When I returned to the hotel room, I fell face down on the bed and fell asleep in that position. Then I woke up, vomiting in that same position.”

Ultimately, he found himself in an awkward situation:

“I called my wife, Emily, and said, ‘I don’t know what to do.’”

Hatton, 33, one of the central participants of this year’s BMW PGA Championship, shared how much he drank, comparing his outing to the funny movie “The Hangover”:

“I had about six glasses of wine at lunch and then had a double gin and tonic.”

“It was terrible but funny at that moment. Not so funny the next day.”
