Scandal at Disneyland

According to The Sun: The Barcelona striker, Rafinha, has accused Disneyland Paris of racism after the mascot ignored his son while hugging all the other children.

The Brazilian footballer expressed his displeasure on social media, calling the staff 'embarrassing' and sharing a video of his two-year-old son Gael not receiving a hug.

In the video he posted on his Instagram story, the mascot is seen hugging other children while Gael, in a red tracksuit, tries to get attention.

In another clip, the child touches the mascot's leg to get a hug, but remains unsuccessful. It then shows an adult lifting the child to the mascot, but again, there was no hug.

'Your staff are a disgrace. They should not treat people this way, especially not a CHILD. They should make children happy and not ignore them,' wrote Rafinha.

He also raised the suspicion that racist factors may have influenced the situation: 'I understand the staff's exhaustion, but why did all the white children receive hugs and my son did not?'

'I hate you, Disneyland. He just wanted a greeting and a hug. Fortunately, he did not get that. This staff member is terrible,' he added.

So far, Disneyland Paris has not responded to the allegations. Rafinha was at home, at an international training camp, when this incident happened.

The footballer has repeatedly spoken out against racism in his career. In 2023, he wore a T-shirt that read: 'As long as skin color is more important than eye color, wars will not cease.'

This incident is another example of Rafinha having been a target of racist insults in the past. At the end of last year, three men were arrested for directing racist insults towards him and his teammate. This situation highlights the urgency of the fight against racism in sports and society as a whole.
