British tourist missing: police suspect crocodile

According to The Sun: A 71-year-old British tourist who went missing a week ago is believed by the police to have fallen victim to a crocodile.

Elaine McSorley and her husband Leon, age 81, went for a walk to the lake — but the husband could not cope with the heat and turned back.

Three hours later, when his wife did not return to the hotel, Leon raised the alarm.

There are signs at the lake in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa warning of crocodiles that are dangerous to humans.

Leon has already left the Ghost Mountain Inn hotel, and the police do not know where he is now.

The authorities believe that Elaine may have fallen victim to a crocodile or that her disappearance is linked to a crime, but currently, there is no evidence supporting either theory.

Lieutenant Colonel Paul Magwaza stated: “The British couple arrived at Ghost Mountain Inn at 1:00 PM and went for a walk at 2:00 PM. According to the husband, during their walk to the lake, he decided to return to the hotel, but when she did not return, he raised the alarm. We are searching for her day and night, but there are no signs. It seems she just disappeared without a trace. The dogs have also not found any signs. If she simply fell and died, we would have already found her. There are various theories about what happened, but I do not want to speculate.”
A member of the police forum said: “We are starting to consider whether she was eaten. There are no signs of a crime.”

The situation with Elaine McSorley shows how risky walks in nature can be, especially in areas where wild animals live. The police continue their search, but so far no results are likely. The investigation will continue, and clarifying all details may answer the unresolved questions regarding this incident.
