Germany Steps Into Poland's 'Eastern Shield' Program

According to UATV: German military personnel have joined Poland's 'Eastern Shield' initiative, a project aimed at bolstering NATO's defensive infrastructure in response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The Polish General Staff confirmed this on social media platform X, noting that a German unit is now working alongside Polish troops on engineering tasks to strengthen defensive positions on NATO's northeastern flank.

Poland, mindful of threats from Russia, has evaluated potential scenarios involving Russian operations under a 'false flag.' Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz expressed concern over the possible use of drones marked with Ukrainian insignia, which Russia could deploy in provocations.

“We have already encountered provocations involving drones, so we have seen what the Russian Federation is capable of,” said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

Over the past week, Russia initiated 904 combat engagements—the highest volume of attacks since the full-scale invasion began in 2022. The minister emphasized that this level of activity signals a serious threat in the region.
