According to The Sun: The lists of the best pubs in the country have been announced - is there a chance for victory at your local bar?

The Great British Pub Awards have presented finalists in various categories, such as Best Beer Pub, Best Pub with Garden, and Best Rural Pub.

These awards aim to highlight the best pubs in Great Britain. Six pubs have been nominated in each category, and winners will be announced at the end of the month.

Nominations for Best Beer Pub

Among the nominees for Best Beer Pub is Cask Pub & Kitchen in Pimlico, London. It boasts the UK’s first and only vintage beer cellar, containing beer from the 1950s.

Also included is The Riverhead Brewery Tap in Marsden, which has its own microbrewery. Blind Jack's in Knaresborough is an independent traditional pub established in 1991 that sells high-quality craft beers.

Other nominees for this award are Bowland Beer Hall in Holmes Mill in Clitheroe, Granville’s Beer & Gin House in Horsforth, Leeds, and The Tamworth Tap in Staffordshire.

Best Rural Pubs

For those who love pub lunches after a walk in the countryside, there is a list of the Best Rural Pubs. The Sun Inn in Great Easton, Leicestershire, is located in the heart of the Welland valley.

Researchers assure that this is a hidden “wonderful corner” with a “fantastic” Sunday lunch.

Best Pub Gardens

Six pubs have also been nominated for the title of Best Pub with Garden. The Gaggle of Geese in Buckland Newton is located in the rural area of Dorset with five acres of garden.

The legendary Black Friar in Salford opened in 1886; however, it remained neglected for more than 15 years before being restored in 2021.

Currently, it delights guests with its award-winning garden and open tavern, as well as its famous Greenhouse.

Other Award Categories

Among other award categories are Best Pub for Food, Best Family Pub, and Best Dog-Friendly Pub.
