The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov, said that mass protests and uprisings in Russia are unlikely, as there is no strong leader who could lead them.
He noted that Russians are not ready for protests despite the worsening of living conditions. Budanov emphasized the flooding of some regions, problems with electricity supply, and a possible ban on currency trading as a result of crisis events in the Russian Federation.
In addition, the Russian authorities have adapted society in such a way that Russians have almost no desire to hold protests.
"Unfortunately, their system adapts their society to these problems. Overall, the desire in their society to hold protest actions is much lower than in ours. A rebellion can only happen if there is a strong leader. So far, such a leader has not appeared," Budanov noted.
