Carlisle to consider FA complaint over offensive chanting towards Robbie Savage.
The Carlisle club has confirmed the FA's request
According to The Sun: The Carlisle club released an official statement confirming that it has received a request from the Football Association (FA) regarding allegations of insults directed at Forest Green Rovers coach Robbie Savage.
Savage, a 51-year-old specialist, called for a fight against abuse from Carlisle fans after a match in which his team lost 4-2 in the National League fixture on Saturday. He stated:
“I can't believe this is happening in 2023. Football should bring people together, not divide them.”
Savage's concerns have sparked outrage in the football community, and the FA is currently conducting an investigation to clarify the details of the incident.
This situation highlights the importance of combating discrimination in sports and emphasizes the need to create a safe environment for all participants in football matches. The community's reaction indicates that such incidents do not go unnoticed and require urgent responses.
