Balde at the scene
According to La Provence, Balde visited the school on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, after which he was taken by law enforcement and hospitalized in a psychiatric unit.
It turned out that the Celtic legend was involved in a car accident when he was struck by a vehicle, and he also received blows from the father of one of the students who was alarmed by his behavior.
Witnesses reported that Balde was talking about some “mission” he plans to carry out before his death. Due to this, he sustained injuries and required assistance from firefighters.
During questioning, law enforcement perceived him as a victim but noticed that he seemed detached and made worrying statements about the future.
“He is a very nice man, but he started making quite vague remarks, even in the police station,' said an officer.
“But he did not want to file a complaint, noting that his behavior might have raised concerns among the parents of the students,” he added.
Balde, who has no children at this school, reappeared on Wednesday and Thursday, after which law enforcement was forced to intervene.
Due to his appearance, Balde was sent to psychiatric emergency services at Timone hospital.
49-year-old Balde was removed from the scene at the direction of Mayor Silvane Suvestre, who dispatched police officers to the school.
