Vinnytsia region increased investments to UAH 20 billion: who is investing in green energy

The Vinnytsia region has developed the food and tobacco industries, woodworking and pulp and paper sectors, as well as energy generation. The region also has well-established instrumentation, machine engineering, light industry, agricultural sector, and processing of agricultural products.

The region can boast its own international airport in Vinnytsia, although the passenger traffic there is still not impressive – only 61 thousand passengers in 2018. However, there are excellent road and railway connections with all major cities of Ukraine.

Innovations and Investments

One of the largest foreign enterprises in the region - Balrinek Invest, which produces three-layer parquet boards, belongs to the Polish company Barlinek Group.

Since 2017, refrigerator equipment factories from UBC Group, a dairy processing plant Villa Milk, and a solar panel manufacturing plant from Kness have started operating in the Vinnytsia region. In addition, three solar power plants with varying capacities have been put into operation.

Although the per capita export volume in the region is slightly lower than the average in Ukraine, and the regional gross product and salaries are also at a lower level, there is potential for investment in the region.

Support for Business and Investors

Unfortunately, the regional government does not use the budget to stimulate investments in the region - this year, there is a zero amount per capita for development.

However, the investment passport of the Vinnytsia region states that the region has potential for investments in food, light, woodworking, and chemical industries, machine engineering, and energy.

The Vinnytsia region is actively developing industries such as food, tobacco, woodworking, and pulp and paper industry, as well as energy generation. The region has certain achievements in its own international airport, but has not yet achieved impressive passenger traffic figures. However, railway and road connections with other regions of the country are quite developed. New investments and support from foreign companies such as Balrinek Invest and Barlinek Group are reviving the local economy and contributing to the creation of new jobs. Opportunities for investment in the region remain promising despite some economic challenges.
