This evening in Paris began the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games. Instead of the traditional procession in the bowl of the main arena, the organizers decided to arrange a boat parade on the Seine River. The official part of the athletes' presentation will take place at the Trocadero Square. This concept will make Paris-2024 the largest opening ceremony in terms of audience reach and geography. Athletes from around the world will be moving on boats along the Seine. Nearly 100 boats with representatives from more than two hundred countries will participate in the parade. The event route will stretch along the Seine from the Austerlitz Bridge to the Trocadero Square. There, the Olympic flame will be lit, and the games will be declared open. The entertainment part of the ceremony remains a mystery. The flag of Ukraine will be carried by tennis player Elina Svitolina.
