'Through Heads': Scholz Explains Why He Opposes Deploying Peacekeepers in Ukraine.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed his opinion on the possibility of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine. According to Scholz, discussing this issue may become an obstacle, as it demonstrates Europe's doubt in Ukraine's ability to regain occupied territories. The Chancellor emphasized the importance of first conducting negotiations and obtaining security guarantees for Ukraine before considering such matters. He also expressed the view that such debates are impractical and premature, as they imply that Ukraine will not be able to reclaim the occupied territory.
Furthermore, Olaf Scholz commented on U.S. President Donald Trump's idea regarding providing assistance to Ukraine in exchange for rare earth minerals. He noted that Europe supports Ukraine unconditionally, and this support should be a common position of all countries. At the same Time, the Chancellor stressed that regardless of this, Ukraine will still require financial support from its allies to maintain its army.
It should be noted that Olaf Scholz held a meeting with the leader of the British Labour Party, Mr. Keir Starmer, during which the issue of providing assistance to Ukraine was discussed.
