Russian Attacks on Energy: Why Power Schedules Do Not Match

According to inkorr.com: Russian occupiers continue to attack Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This leads to power outage schedules not always matching reality, and residents in some regions again face power interruptions, even after it has been restored.

Impact on the Energy System

Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, notes that attacks on energy facilities cause serious disruptions. Parts of Kharkiv, Sumy, Kherson, and Zaporizhia regions remain without electricity.

'To avoid total power outages, energy workers restore and maneuver electricity in the networks, prioritizing critical infrastructure and residential buildings,' explained the official. According to him, it is due to such switching that the schedules do not always match the officially published ones.

The Situation in Chernihiv and Sumy Oblast

In Chernihiv, the water supply, hospitals, pharmacies, and mobile communications continue to function, so the city has not plunged into complete darkness despite the attacks.

In Sumy Oblast, energy workers report that during operational switching, repeated outages may occur even for consumers who have already received electricity supply.

These situations arise due to the use of alternative lines and temporary power schemes that help provide electricity to as many consumers as possible under difficult conditions.

Restrictions on Publishing Information

Experts urge citizens to refrain from posting information about the restoration of electricity supply with specific addresses or settlements on social networks, as it could be used by the enemy for new attacks on energy facilities.

In 'Sumyoblenergo', it is emphasized that restoration work is carried out around the clock, and energy workers are operating in enhanced mode. All details of technical solutions and safety measures are not disclosed.

Against the backdrop of the tense situation, the Ukrainian energy system continues to fight against the attacking Russian occupiers. Local energy workers and city management take all possible measures to ensure stability in energy supply while paying attention to information security. Ensuring the confidentiality of data on the state of energy networks remains critically important in these conditions.
