According to The Sun: The match between BLACKBURN and Sheffield Wednesday was stopped due to heavy rain that made the field unplayable. Officials decided to suspend the game approximately an hour into the match and considered the possibility of clearing water off the pitch at Ewood Park. Fans were left soaked in the stands.
