Waitrose's improved offerings were even more expensive than in the online supermarket Ocado, where the same basket cost £159.79.

“That’s why we also provide excellent quality, industry-leading standards for animal welfare, and fantastic customer service.”

In the same month, Asda remained one of the cheapest supermarkets in the UK for a longer list of 190 products. The cost for this list at Asda was £474.86, which is £11.03 cheaper than Tesco with the club card (£485.89).
