Chelsea signs young striker from Strasbourg
According to The Sun: Football club Chelsea has reached an agreement to sign 22-year-old Emmanuel Emegha from Strasbourg. The contract will take effect in 2026.
The Londoners decided to acquire this striker as many teams from the Champions League and Premier League have shown interest in him.
GettyEmegha wishes to finish the season at Strasbourg before officially moving to Chelsea.
The club has signed a preliminary contract for seven years, starting next year.
This season he has already scored 14 goals and provided three assists in 27 matches in Ligue 1.
As of this season, the striker has scored three goals in four matches across all competitions.
Emegha is a promising footballer and represents the Netherlands U21 team, although he has yet to be called up to the national team.
Chelsea is actively using Strasbourg as a platform to develop young talents following the club's acquisition by Clearlake.
Last season, Andriy Santos, Angelo, Caleb Wiley and Djord Petrovic were loaned to Strasbourg.
This summer, Chelsea clubs also found new teams for Martis Amogu, Ishe Semuels Smith and Ben Chilwell, who moved to Strasbourg permanently, while Mamadou Sarr, Mike Penders and Kendry Paez joined on loan.
Brighton star Julio Enciso also signed with Strasbourg during the transfer window but apparently intends to join Chelsea in the future.
The arrival of Emegha makes him the fifth striker signed by Enzo Maresca since his appointment at Chelsea last season. He joins Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Marc Guéhi and Joao Felix, who were signed in the last 12 months.
