Chelsea's Scouting in South America is on the Rise Again

According to The Sun: Chelsea has once again managed to discover new talents from South America. The acquisition of Estevano, which is the latest in a long list of young stars, underscores the effectiveness of the club's scouts. The team is currently actively seeking new young players, but competition is increasing.

Chelsea is also interested in Deiner Ordóñez

After successful deals for Moisés Caicedo and Kendry Páez, the club is already trying to beat competitors in the race for 15-year-old defender Deiner Ordóñez. His price is estimated at £14 million.

However, the situation may be more complicated than with Páez, who currently plays for Strasbourg. Deiner has attracted the attention of Liverpool scouts and other European clubs due to his impressive performances at the South American U20 Championship. He became the youngest player in a decade to take the field in this tournament, with already four matches under his belt for the Ecuador national team.

Talent from Independiente del Valle

The young defender is already over 180 cm tall, knows how to control the ball and effectively compete against attackers. He plays as a left central defender, similar to Arsenal's newcomer Piero Hincapié.

The club 'Independiente del Valle' has become a true breeding ground for talent in recent years, as players like Caicedo, Páez, and Hincapié have already moved to Europe, as well as Wilian Pacho, who currently plays for PSG.

Chelsea will likely attempt to strike a deal similar to the one made with Páez to give the young player a chance to develop in his home country until he turns 18.

The Race to Sign Robinho Jr.

Liverpool is not the only club interested in young talents. They are also considering signing Robinho's son. The 17-year-old forward plays for 'Santos' in Brazil and has already scored four goals for the youth team, although he has only three scoreless matches for the first team.

Robinho became famous in Britain after his transfer to 'Manchester City' in 2008, but he struggled to establish himself in the team and left the club two years later. In March 2024, he began a nine-year prison sentence in Brazil for rape charges.

“Robinho was one of six men convicted of sexually assaulting an Albanian woman.”

The situation in the transfer market for Chelsea and other European clubs remains tense, especially when it comes to young talents from South America. The discovery of new stars could significantly impact the team’s future, but the increasing competition means clubs will have to act quickly to secure beneficial deals.
