Chelsea has made a £35 million offer for a Barcelona player: the club's response.

According to The Sun: The London club Chelsea has made a £35 million offer for Barcelona star Fermín López.

The offer was submitted shortly after the 2-0 victory against Fulham.

However, the team suffered losses during the game: striker Liam Delap had to leave the field due to a bicep injury in the 14th minute.

Chelsea is still recovering from having their bid for Xavi Simons from Tottenham surpassed.

Nicholas Jackson returned to the club to replace Delap after his injury, as he was in a transition to Bayern.

The offer for López, who is 22 years old, was seen as an alternative to Simons.

Chelsea has yet to receive a response from Barcelona regarding their offer.

The club is also competing with Newcastle, who have shown interest in this midfielder.

According to reports from Spain, the Magpies are ready to surpass Chelsea's offer.

El Chiringuito TV reports that Newcastle is open to a deal worth £87 MILLION for López.

However, SunSport reports that Chelsea is confident they can complete the deal for a significantly lower price.

This amount would exceed the club's offer at Stamford Bridge.

López has already made 89 appearances for the Catalans since his debut.

During this time, he has scored 19 goals and provided ten assists.

Coach Hansi Flick believes López will stay, but admits he does not know what will happen before the end of the transfer window.

“At the moment, he is here. I am convinced that he will stay, but I don't know what will happen. We have to wait. I will be really glad when the market is closed,” the coach said.
