Unexpected acquisition of Buonanotte

According to The Sun: Chelsea is gradually completing a deal for another player from Brighton - just 24 hours after his flight to Leeds was booked.

In recent years, the 'blues' have spent £275 million on Brighton, attracting 14 players and staff members.

Now Chelsea is looking to sign their 15th talent - Argentine Facundo Buonanotte.

The team is fighting to secure this playmaker on loan for the season. Borussia Dortmund, along with several other clubs, is also interested in Buonanotte.

According to SunSport, Brighton prefers that their young talent goes on loan rather than leaving the south coast permanently. They hope he stays in the Premier League.

Leeds believed that the deal was already in the final stages - they had booked a flight to Yorkshire and a medical examination for Thursday. However, the deal collapsed, providing Chelsea with the opportunity to take advantage of the situation after they missed out on a chance with Xavi Simons, who is on the brink of signing with Tottenham.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that the preliminary loan agreement has already been agreed, and the player has accepted the offer.

Season at Leicester

Buonanotte spent last season on loan at Leicester, where he became one of the few bright talents in their relegation campaign.

He scored five goals and made two assists but could not save the 'Foxes' from returning to the Championship.

Potential strengthening of the attack

The player, who has two caps for the national team, has not yet participated in matches this season under Fabian Hurczer. Buonanotte, who has already scored for Brighton at Stamford Bridge in 2023, could be a good reinforcement for Cole Palmer.

Enzo Maresca is looking for a solution to the muscle problem that the player sustained before the victory over West Ham.

Adding Buonanotte to the attacking line, Chelsea is likely to reduce the urgency of Palmer's return. This also confirms the ongoing business relationships between Chelsea and Brighton.

The Todd Boehly regime began in 2022 with the transfers of young players Zak Sturdge and Shumayri Mkheka. Staff members including Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor, and Paul Winstanley also moved to Brighton.

However, there were also significant transfers such as Marc Cucurella (£62 million), Moises Caicedo (£115 million), Robert Sanchez (£25 million), and Joao Pedro (£60 million), which involved large financial deals.

With the gradual integration of young players, this underscores the club's strategic approach to developing talented youth. The use of the loan market is becoming an increasingly popular means for clubs to acquire new stars and significant reinforcements without large financial outlays.
