Joe Cole considers a transition to coaching: Details from the former Chelsea star.
Joe Cole considers the possibility of becoming a coach
According to The Sun: Former Chelsea player Joe Cole is contemplating a move into management, but he is not rushing into choosing his first job.
The ex-England international intends to follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Frank Lampard, who is currently managing Coventry City.

Cole is open to the possibility of continuing his career in coaching but approaches the selection of a suitable job cautiously.
“Yes, absolutely. I’m coaching a bit. I was at Brentford last year with young athletes, just keeping my skills sharp,”
“I plan to start again soon when everything settles down. This is something I intend to focus on. But it's tough,”
“You don’t want to take a job that doesn’t suit you. There are many great jobs, but you’re aiming to get a good job with the opportunity to succeed.”
The 43-year-old Cole primarily works as a commentator for TNT Sports since finishing his playing career in 2018. He is actively involved in their European football broadcasts, particularly in the Europa League, but is interested in the prospects of following his former teammates into the 'crazy world' of football management.
“It’s such a crazy world. I have friends who manage everywhere, and when you talk to them, they’re always four or five matches away from being sacked at any level,”
“There’s actually interference from owners and directors, many other factors where what you control on the pitch isn't always up to you.”
“What kind of job could suit you if you’re judged every Saturday, and you actually don’t control the situation?”
“It’s a crazy job. The only thing I can say is if I were to take a job, I would want to have full control over tactics and certain relationships with the owner to have time to implement my ideas.”
“If it were like that, I’d start tomorrow. But I don’t know if I’m waiting for something impossible.”
The prospect of Joe Cole becoming a coach opens a new chapter in his career, following a long time spent on the football field and in the commentator’s chair. His caution regarding the choice of a first job indicates a deep analysis and understanding of the complexities of management in football. The desire to have control over tactics and relationships with the club may suggest a serious approach to potential positions in the coaching staff, which could interest many clubs in the future.
