According to The Sun: Cycling champion Chris Froome spoke about the horrific incident that left him with serious injuries.

The legendary cyclist was rushed to hospital in southern France last week.

At the time of the accident, the 40-year-old Froome required surgery due to a collapsed lung, four broken ribs, and a vertebra fracture.

This incident also resulted in a cardiac tamponade - a condition that surrounds the heart.

Froome's First Message

The four-time Tour de France winner published a message for the first time since this critical event.

Froome shared a photo of himself leaving the hospital holding hands with his 7-year-old daughter Katie.

“I am glad to return home from the hospital today. Thank you to the staff at HIA Sainte Anne.”

Froome received treatment at the military hospital in Sainte-Anne in Toulon after colliding at a speed of over 30 miles per hour. This hospital is one of the best trauma centers in the region.

Fans were delighted to see Froome walking out of the hospital and actively commented on his social media posts.

Chris Froome's Career

Froome has been married to his wife Michelle since 2014, and they have two children: Katie and 9-year-old Kellan.

Michelle also thanked the doctors for their help and noted that Froome will not be able to return to the bike anytime soon.
